I like to tinker, so I will try to use this page to describe and provide links and documentation to some of my home built equipment and accessories as well as the radios I have and use.

My HF Rig: Yaesu FT-891 pretty new with voided warranty! I modified with an IF buffer amplifier board and an added IF output at the 69.45 Mhz IF. I am not sure this is working entirely as it should, but it is giving me some signal when hooked to an SDR. I don't yet have an accurate waterfall display from it though. If I tune up an SDR to the center frequency and I tune up a strong MW station on the FT-891, the SDR does pick up an audible signal. I doubt it is good enough to digitally decode though. What I have done has NOT affected the radio's ears from what I can tell.

MFJ-939Y Autotuner - This thing seems to work well, but it is no good above 10M, but my random wire antenna isn't the best on 10m and above anyway, so I switch to a different antenna anyway.

9:1 unun - I built this from a workshop document W8AOR sent me when I passed my general. I had my random wire antenna directly in the back of my antenna tuner previously. This really helped me get the RF out of the shack.
